The 2020 Intense flanker deepens the original's DNA: a fruity bergamot-raspberry-pink pepper opening leads into the familiar powdery iris and orange blossom heart, but the base is richer and warmer, with benzoin and heliotrope adding an almondy, resinous sweetness on top of the signature vanilla-patchouli accord. Compared to the original it is denser, creamier and more ambery rather than brighter, trading some of the fruit sparkle for cozy warmth. Longevity and projection are excellent, arguably stronger than the pillar. Those who found the original too sweet will likely find this even heavier.
