The EDP is the richer, more resinous rendering of L'Heure Bleue, with a fuller floral heart of carnation, heliotrope, violet and rose sitting over a warm, doughy base of iris, vanilla, benzoin and tonka. It amplifies the almondy, powdery, patisserie-like character that defines this fragrance, trading some of the EDT's airy anise brightness for depth and sweetness. This remains a distinctly vintage and polarising scent, and its heavy powder-and-benzoin drydown can feel old-fashioned or cloying to those unaccustomed to classic Guerlains.
