Tom Ford Noir is the house's take on a classical spicy-oriental men's signature, often read as a warmer, more refined riff on the Guerlain barbershop-oriental lineage. It opens bright and peppery over a powdery violet-iris heart, then dries down into an ambery, slightly animalic base of opoponax, patchouli and civet-tinged vanilla. Performance is strong: 7–9 hours with moderate-to-heavy sillage in the opening. It reads mature and grown-up rather than crowd-pleasing, so younger wearers sometimes find it dated, but fans prize exactly that old-school sophistication.
