Red Aoud is a spicy rose-oud built around a saffron-and-cumin heart that gives it a warm, almost skin-like intimacy. The oud is prominent from the top alongside pepper, while rose adds a soft floral counterweight before drying down to orris, sandalwood and vetiver. The cumin note makes it slightly polarising, reading as warmly animalic to some and sweaty to others. Typical of Montale, projection is strong and longevity runs well beyond a full day, so restraint is advised.
