Édition Noire is the darker, more austere reinterpretation of the classic Pour Homme, trading the original's bright fougère brightness for a drier, spicier, more modern woody signature. A citrus-and-sage opening leads into a herbal artemisia-geranium-caraway heart, then a smooth, slightly animalic base of vetiver, cumin, tonka and woody amber. Honest performance: moderate longevity of about 6–8 hours with polite, close-wearing projection, more refined and less shouty than the vintage original. The cumin note gives it a subtle skin-like warmth some find sensual and others find sharp. A cooler-weather, smart-casual alternative to the loud 1978 classic.
