Oud Mood Elixir is the drier, less-sweet flanker of Oud Mood. Saffron, nutmeg and cinnamon open spicy (nutmeg-forward), an oud, suede and sandalwood heart gives a leathery, slightly medicinal woodiness, and a base of amber and vanilla softens it with gentle sweetness. More austere and masculine-leaning than the original, a cold-weather oud for those who like it dry and smoky rather than sweet. Note: needs maceration; the opening can read sharp.
