Rouat Al Oud is a rich rose-and-oud with a leathery, spicy drydown, widely regarded as a budget take on Dior's Oud Ispahan. Saffron and a touch of tart raspberry open bright and slightly sweet-sour, a heart of rose, geranium and patchouli adds a dark floral spice, and a base of oud, leather, amber and cedar dries down deep, resinous and masculine-leaning. Clean and fresh for an oud, but unmistakably an oud-leather at heart, think crushed berries over old leather and damp woods. Strong projection and long wear; a polarizing but classy oud that wears unisex (leans masculine in the drydown), best for cooler weather. Note: some listings show an alternate citrus-tamarind-cardamom pyramid, but the rose-oud-leather profile is what most people experience.
