Violet Bouquet is a sweet, saffron-amber-woody scent and, despite the "Violet" name, one of the best-value Baccarat Rouge 540 alternatives (there's no actual violet here). Saffron, bergamot and woody notes open bright and slightly bitter, a heart of caramel, amber, orange and citrus peel brings that signature sweet-ambery BR540 glow, and a base of ambergris, oakmoss and "ancient woods" gives a warm, resinous finish. Reviewers put it 90–95% to BR540, arguably louder, with more ambergris and none of the original's disappearing act. Marketed feminine but wears unisex (BR540 always did). Best for fall and cooler weather, versatile year-round, with strong longevity and a big scent bubble. Note: it can be a touch sharp/synthetic in the first five minutes before the sweet-woody drydown takes over, and the name is misleading (this is a saffron-amber "BR540," not a violet floral).
