Montale is the house to reach for when you actually want oud rather than a suggestion of it. Black Aoud, Aoud Leather, Aoud Greedy and Red Aoud are dense, animalic and completely unlike the designer interpretation of the note.

Arabians Tonka and Intense Cafe Ristretto cover the gourmand side, and Mukhallat sits closer to traditional Middle Eastern perfumery. Sample carefully: these are polarising by design.
